Brick commercial buildings with flat roofs in a downtown street

What this service is

We connect Champaign-area property owners with independent, Illinois-licensed commercial roofing contractors. You describe the building and the roof problem once, through the form or by phone. Contractors who serve your area receive the details and contact you to arrange a roof visit and quote. You compare, check licenses and pick. There is no fee to you and no obligation to hire anyone.

The guides on this site cover what most local search results skip: typical national price ranges by system, the Illinois limited versus unlimited license, the two-layer recover rule, the energy-code insulation trigger on tear-offs, and how to handle storm damage without falling for a storm chaser.

What this service is not

Elite Champaign Commercial Roofers is a free referral service, not a roofing contractor. We do not perform roofing work, inspect roofs, pull permits or send anyone to your building. Contractors are independent businesses responsible for their own licensing, insurance, permits and workmanship. Your contract, price, schedule and warranty are with the contractor you choose.

The brand name describes the contractors you can reach through the service, not a company that does roofing. Illinois law makes it unlawful to hold oneself out as a roofing contractor without a license, which is why every page on this site describes the work as something the independent contractors do.

How contractors are asked to participate

  • License. We ask contractors to confirm their IDFPR unlimited roofing license, which Illinois requires for commercial, industrial and larger multi-family work. Licenses can lapse; verify any roofer at idfpr.illinois.gov before you sign.
  • Insurance. Contractors are asked to carry general liability and workers' compensation coverage. Ask for current certificates yourself.
  • Local service. Contractors are asked to serve Champaign-Urbana or the surrounding counties, so travel doesn't dominate the price.
  • Commercial experience. Ask each contractor which systems they install and whether they hold manufacturer credentials for the warranty you want.

Participation is not an endorsement or a guarantee of any contractor's work, license status or insurance. Compare more than one quote and read each scope line by line.

How this site is paid for

The service is free to property owners and managers. Contractors may pay to receive requests. That doesn't change your obligations: you are never required to hire anyone who replies, and you negotiate price directly with the contractor.

Commercial roofing contractors: joining

If you hold an Illinois unlimited roofing license, serve the Champaign area and want to receive commercial requests, send your company name, license number, service area, the systems you install and contact details through the quote form (choose "Not sure yet" and write "contractor inquiry" in the details).

Where the information comes from

Prices come from national cost guides (Fixr January 2026, ServiceTitan February 2026, Angi/HomeAdvisor 2025) and are labeled as typical national ranges. Weather facts come from the National Weather Service and the Illinois State Climatologist; licensing facts from IDFPR; code facts from the City of Champaign and the International Code Council. If something looks out of date, tell us through the form.
